Wild West Day

July 17 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

“Y’All aboard for a rootin’ tootin’ journey by train into the Wild West! But watch out – the Black Hat Gang is on the loose and stirring up trouble… Kick up your boots for this fun western reenactment story about a runaway, a gang of ruffians, a father’s pursuit and see if law and order can be reestablished onboard the train!

The story begins as you board and continues down the tracks on the train. Learn about the characters, guard your gold and when the train stops at the base of Ozan Winery, watch from the windows as the story unfolds outside the train on the grounds below. Come in your best Western wear – no guns allowed – and saddle up for some fantastic fun! Board the Calera & Shelby Railroad for a relaxing approximate 75-minute ride through the woods of Shelby County. The story of the Wild West will be an interactive experience on the Museum grounds, onboard the train and outside the train as passengers watch the stage below from the train windows. Food vendors will be on the grounds for lunch, snacks, drinks or sweet treats! The Shelby & Southern Narrow Gauge Steam Railroad will be operating with departures throughout the day. Purchase tickets at the Shelby & Southern Depot next to the Gift Shop.”
