The Old Man & the Gun
November 1, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm
Robert Redford says this is his last movie. And as the poster says “This Story is Mostly True.”
Forrest Tucker is 70 years old and he’s still got a lot of living left to do. A bank robber by trade, he escapes from San Quentin just as he’s escaped so many times before, and goes to rob a bank as he has so many times before. His tools of the trade? One gun and a ton of charm. Not only does he charm the bank tellers while he robs them, not only does he charm Jewel, a widowed rancher, but he also charms the public. A gentleman bank robber? Who wouldn’t be charmed?
That uncharmed man would be John Hunt, an apt name for a cop tasked with bringing Tucker to justice. As Hunt starts – ahem – hunting down Tucker and his “Over the Hill Gang,” Hunt and Tucker develop a mutual respect on both sides, and both of them end up having some fun with Tucker’s crime spree. We’re sure you will, too.
