Jim, Judy, and Plato are high schoolers who meet for the first time at a police station. Oh, yeah. And they’re all under arrest and all have issues with their parents.

Jim, who doesn’t respect his dad, befriends Plato, who has been abandoned by his parents. Judy, however, runs with a gang and has no time for the two outcasts. Until her boyfriend dies in a chickie run (what the kids in those days called a car race) against Jim, the only person who doesn’t abandon her after the crash and even gives her a ride home.

As the three grow closer and form their own family, they should have known it was too good to be true.
