Join Landmarks Association as we visit the McBride-Screws-Tyson House, more commonly referred to as Tyson House. This Greek Revival house is one of a very few remaining antebellum mansions that were once located in Cottage Hill, Montgomery’s first suburb. After the Civil War most of the mansions were converted into rooming houses and later demolished to allow for infill of modest homes. Jeff Benton will give a short talk about the house’s history and architecture before the ground floor is opened for guests.
