Join the Montgomery Zoo Saturday, September 7, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., for Animal Enrichment Day! Enjoy a tour of the Zoo during the enrichment event and observe how animals respond to an assortment of new creative and behavior-stimulating enrichment items.  Visit over 20 different animal displays during the course of the event!

Enrichment is all about providing the animals with both physical and cognitive stimuli that is natural to their behavior in the wild. Virtual or not, the Montgomery Zoo remains true to that methodology.  Animal enrichment is not always about providing a reward or a treat. The goal is to stimulate a behavior that would normally be found naturally in that species.

Animal Enrichment Day gives visitors a unique opportunity to observe these instinctual behaviors as animals are presented with new experiences in their enclosures.
