Animal Enrichment Day, Summer 2019

Animal enrichment activities, 10am – 2pm (The Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum will be open 9am – 5pm)

From zoo animals to our pets at home and even including us, we all need enrichment. A chance to smell a new scent. Taste a new favor. Play a new game or figure out a puzzle. Enrichment is an effort to tap into and stimulate our basic five senses: touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing. The result is to stimulate behaviors resembling those for that species in the wild. It is a lot of trial and error, but it is always fun.

Event fee: Regular admission fee to enter zoo; however, there is no additional fee to view and participate in the Animal Enrichment Day activities.

Rhino 10am – 10:15am

Elephants 10:15am – 10:30am

Chimp 10:30am – 10:45am

Siamangs 10:45am – 11am

Cheetah 11am – 11:15am

Lions 11:15am 11:30am

Bear 11:30am – 11:45am

Lynx in North America 11:45am – 12pm

Otters 12pm – 12:15pm

Jags 12:15pm – 12:30pm

Lemurs 12:30 – 12:45pm

Education animals (6-8 animals) out 12:45pm – 1:15pm
