17th Annual Autism Crawfish Boil
April 10 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
“On Saturday, April 10th, Easterseals Central Alabama and the all-volunteer Mudbug Ball Committee will host the 17th Annual Autism Crawfish Boil at Riverwalk Stadium in downtown Montgomery. This event is the premier kick-off event for Autism Awareness month. The plan for 2021 is to prepare 4,000 pounds of crawfish and serve them pre-bagged for pickup only at various appointment times. Like many others, Easterseals has been faced with modifying the event to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the quickly reimagined event was transformed into a drive-thru event allowing the Mudbug Ball Committee to make a donation of $20,000 to Easterseals Central Alabama’s Autism Programs.”
“The Autism Crawfish Boil is run completely by volunteers. The event began in 2004 as a way of raising much-needed awareness and financial assistance for individuals in the River Region living with autism. Over the years, attendance has grown from a couple of hundred attendees to cooking more than two tons of crawfish for the last several years. They are passionate about this event because they know that the hard work and generous contributions help the local neighbors. And while much has changed over the last year, the specific needs of those living with autism have not.”
“Each $33 ticket buys the donor three pounds of crawfish, two pieces of corn, potatoes, sausage, garlic, celery, and more. Live music will be performed by duo Lacy Lynn and Todd Fulmer in the Club Car Bar that will be open and t-shirts, hats, and goodies will be available for purchase. All safety guidelines will be followed.”
Tickets available for pre-purchase only.
