Athletic Programs & Achievements: Programs & Achievements: Alabama Christian Academy provides coeducational athletic programs for grades 6-12. ACA athletics programs stress the importance of body and spirit, promoting faith, character, and sportsmanship. ACA competes as a Class 4A school and is a member of the Alabama High School Athletic Association and the Capital City Conference (CCC). During ACA’s fall season, students can don the Eagles uniform in the following sports: Football, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Basketball. Spring at ACA brings a whole new crop of sporting activities, including Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Track & Field, and Golf.
Arts: Through programs in the arts, ACA helps each student discover, develop, and express his or her unique God-given talents. We provide students the opportunity to join the award-winning ACA Marching Eagle Band and Colorguard as well as jazz and percussion ensembles Meanwhile, our art students explore a variety of mediums, with each student’s art work exhibited in our annual art show. The ACA chorus provides students with ensemble experience in vocal production techniques and part singing for mixed voices. In our theater program, 9th-12th grade students perform in a student showcase, attend the Walter Trumbauer State Theatre Festival, and perform a lavish musical with Faulkner University.
Technology: All classrooms are equipped with computers offering Internet access to all students wirelessly and/or via our computer lab and library media center. All elementary classrooms and several of the secondary programs are outfitted with SmartBoard; in both the elementary and secondary schools, all faculty are equipped with iPads to aid in their course curricula. All 7th-12th grade students use the iPad in the classroom for their textbooks and as a learning tool. Our kindergarten classes also have several iPads for the students to use.
Community Service: As a service-oriented school, ACA encourages personal responsibility, a giving heart, and godly character in students who will be equipped to serve and lead in their communities. In addition to participating in various fundraisers, students provide community outreach and service to organizations such as the Family Sunshine Center and MANE, as well as visits to senior centers. ACA’s elementary is ranked #1 in Alabama and #10 in the nation in money raised for the American Heart Association during the annual Jump Rope for Heart.

Other: Our teachers believe in homework; however, by Board directive, elementary teachers give none on Wednesday nights in order to encourage families to attend mid-week Bible study. A Job Shadowing Program for seniors was introduced in 2008-09. Elementary students grades 3-5 participate in a “Career Week” during each school year. The Academy offers need-based financial aid. Tuition includes a hot nutritious lunch, enrollment deposit, yearbook, all technology fees, and admission to home athletic events. Textbooks, field trips, lab and art fees are additional charges that are billed separately at one time during the school year and vary by grade level. The average amount for these fees is around $400. There are no building fees, or new family fees assessed. 
Extended care program:  MA+ After-School Care Program—3:10- 5:30. Academy students from K-4th grade may attend MA+, an after-school care program at the Lower School campus. The basic schedule includes an energizing snack, supervised homework with special individual help and encouragement of organizational and study skills. Students also engage in active play, quiet games, and arts and crafts. MS+ Middle School Program—3:15-5:30. Our Upper School chorus has earned superior ratings at district and state competitions and has been invited to sing at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Stanford University, and in locations such as New Orleans, New York City, Seattle and Washington D.C. For two years in a row the Upper School Chorus won first place in a national choral competition. The black-box theater on the Vaughn Road campus is where students in grades 5-12 may participate in three full-length performances annually. Every single child in grades K-4 participates in annual performances each year. Student actors compete and are honored annually in the State Theater Festival.   
Course of Study: The Academy’s curriculum is entirely college preparatory. Students in grades 7-12 participate in a unique Experiential Learning Week during the spring. During this exciting week of study, students choose to study from a variety of subjects varying from robotics to Civil Rights. They may also select to intern with local professionals, tour college campuses, or visit locations with their grade in cities such as Washington D.C. and New York City!
