As a military family that moves frequently, it can be a challenging task to connect to a new community. In many ways, the best opportunities are found in communities of faith. Churches can be great places for your family to connect with others, grow in your faith, and foster friendships that will last far beyond your PCS.

When our family moved to Montgomery in 2015, we were looking for a few important things when trying to find a church home:

  • Strong youth ministries that would provide a safe and loving environment for our kids.
  • A great life group or small group program that would help us to connect with other families and help us learn about our new community.
  • Fun family events, including seasonal celebrations and recreation programs (like Upward Soccer).
  • Opportunities to serve others and make a difference in our new community by putting our faith into practice.
