Moving is a big adjustment for everyone- you, your kids, your pets, and even your car! Moving your car from a cooler climate to the hot, humid South requires a little extra attention and maintenance. Check out these guidelines from Don Duncan’s All American Auto and Tire.

TIRES. High temperatures can cause under-inflated tires to fail more quickly than usual. Tires that are overinflated will expand even more with heat- leading to a possible blowout. Check your tire pressure often.

COOLANT. Your car needs to stay cool just as much as you do. Check the level of your car’s coolant fluid often, and make sure to keep an eye on the hoses.

AIR CONDITIONING. There’s nothing worse than having your car’s A/C go out in the middle of July. Take steps to make sure your air conditioner is ready to run- have it inspected regularly. TIP: Set
the A/C to “recirculate”- this cuts down on high-moisture outside air and makes it easier to cool things down inside.

DID YOU KNOW? Everyone relates a weak battery to cold weather, but your electrical system is actually
under more stress in warmer climates like Alabama.
